Tiny Eden demo crashing
Crashes and startup failures have been reported on Tiny Eden's own Steam Community board, with threads titled around the demo not launching and fatal errors when starting the game. The developers have not posted an official fix. The demo was a pre-release build and is no longer listed on Steam; the game shipped as a full 1.0 release on 7 September 2026.
What has actually been reported
Three related thread titles appear on the game's official Steam discussion board: the demo not launching, a fatal error when trying to start the game, and save data being wiped.
These are player reports, not developer statements. No official cause or fix has been published for any of them (unconfirmed).
- Demo not launching
- Fatal error when trying to start the game
- Save wiped
- Abnormal indoor temperature above 44°C — a gameplay report, not a crash
Check the system requirements first
The Steam store page lists a minimum configuration of Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100, 16 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB or Radeon RX 570 4 GB, DirectX 12 and 10 GB of storage.
The 16 GB memory floor is higher than many cozy games ask for, so it is worth confirming before assuming the build is at fault.
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| GPU | GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB / Radeon RX 570 4 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit |
| API | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 10 GB |
Do not confuse this with the Eden emulator
Search results for crash problems mix in a completely different product: a Nintendo Switch emulator also named Eden. Advice about ROMs, folders and nightly builds belongs to that project, not this game.
If a troubleshooting guide mentions ROM files or emulator settings, it is not about Tiny Eden.
Steam Deck is supported
The developers answer the Steam Deck question with a plain yes in their FAQ. A native Linux port is a separate matter — they say they are looking into it without promising one.
That distinction matters for troubleshooting on Linux, where the game runs through compatibility rather than natively.
Where to report it
The Steam Community board for the game is where the existing threads live, and the developers post their own announcements through the same Steam channel.
An official Discord also exists and is linked directly from the developers' FAQ announcement.
Launch failures, from the Windows 11 Smart App Control block to Intel Arc and running the Linux build under Proton, are collected on the not launching page. That page is about the full game; this one keeps the reports from before launch.
What is known about saves
Steam Cloud and Save Anytime both appear in the store page's listed features, so saves are designed to sync rather than live only on one machine.
A save-loss thread nonetheless exists on the discussion board without an official answer. Because the demo was a pre-release build and 1.0 is a separate complete release, its behaviour is not confirmed to carry over.
Not confirmed yet
- No official cause or fix for demo crashes has been published.
- Whether the 44°C temperature report is a bug or intended is not clarified.
