Tiny Eden Update #1 patch notes

Update #1 arrived on 8 September 2026, one day after launch. It drops support for saves made before version 0.10.0, fixes café selling and café orders, repairs quest notes and the Laboratory cutscene, adds Belarusian localization and drone skins, and cleans up a set of UI and texture issues.

Save files: the change that can lock you out

The patch notes open with save compatibility, which is the only item here that can remove something you already had. Files from versions before 0.10.0 are no longer supported and stop appearing in the Load Game menu, while files inside 0.10.x stay compatible with each other.

This lands on top of the launch-day warning that demo saves would not work or would crash. Together they mean launch week has one hard rule: your save has to come from the released game, at 0.10.0 or newer.

Update #9 later hid incompatible saves from the Load Game menu. Every update since is on the patch notes page, and where the files sit is on the save file location page.

  • Saves from versions before 0.10.0 — no longer supported, no longer listed
  • Saves from 0.10.x versions — remain compatible with each other

Gameplay and the café

Three of the four gameplay lines are about selling. The developers fixed issues with selling items at the café, and separately fixed a case where incorrect or unintended café orders could appear. If an order looked wrong to you during launch day, that was not you misreading it.

The third fix is more physical: jam jars could block movement or interfere with interactions. The fourth line is the only new content in the update — drone skins were added.

Update #1 arrived the day after launch. The launch date is on the release date page and the launch price on the price page.

Quests and notes

The quest section confirms that Tiny Eden has a notes system feeding into quests, and that it was misbehaving. One fix stops random notes from failing to appear at all; another improves how notes and their related quest interactions are handled.

A third line names a specific place: the Laboratory cutscene and newly discovered notes both had issues. That is worth knowing if you were stuck around the Laboratory during launch week — some of what looked like a dead end was a bug that has now been patched.

Localization — Belarusian makes it eleven

Belarusian localization was added in this update. That looked at the time like it settled a launch discrepancy — the pre-release announcement counted eleven languages while the store listed ten. It did not: the store still lists ten without Belarusian, and Update #2 refers to "all 10 supported languages" in the developers’ own words.

The rest of the localization work is corrective rather than additive. The developers updated and corrected strings across the game, fixed cases where the wrong button prompt appeared inside localized quest text, and cleaned up inconsistencies across quests, perks, cooking, experience, the UI and settings.

UI and visuals

The UI fix is small and specific: toolbelt tooltips could display an empty item name. The visual work updated several textures and materials, including assets in the Laboratory, and cleaned up assorted issues across environments and objects.

Neither section changes how anything plays. They are listed here because the patch notes list them, and because the Laboratory appears in both the quest fixes and the texture work — the strongest hint in the update about where the developers were focused.

What Update #1 says about how this game will be maintained

The notes open by crediting the Steam Discussions and Discord directly, and the fixes map onto what players were posting in the first 24 hours — selling problems, orders that could not be completed, and quests that stalled. The turnaround was one day.

For anyone reading community workarounds right now, that cadence matters. A thread written on launch day may be describing a bug that no longer exists, so check the version and the date before following advice that involves working around something.

Not confirmed yet

  • The full version number after Update #1 is not stated in the notes — only that 0.10.0 is the save cutoff.
  • How many drone skins were added, and how they are unlocked, is not documented.
  • Perks and experience are named in the localization fixes but have no published documentation.
