Tiny Eden recipes
Tiny Eden ships with at least 40 recipes, and they unlock as your reputation grows rather than through a research tree. Some ingredients in a recipe are predefined while others are flexible, so you can experiment — and each ingredient you choose affects the final dish. Custom recipes are not supported and the developers have said they do not plan to add them.

Reputation is the unlock currency
The official FAQ describes the loop directly: plants produce crops, crops are harvested, processed into food, sold, and generate money and reputation. Money is reinvested; reputation unlocks new opportunities.
Recipes sit on the reputation side of that split. As reputation grows you unlock recipes, which makes cooking a consequence of selling rather than a separate progression track.
Fixed and flexible ingredients
A recipe is not a rigid list. The FAQ says some ingredients are predefined while others are flexible, allowing players to experiment, and that each ingredient affects the final dish.
That is what pushes variety in the garden. Because recipes require multiple ingredients, growing a spread of crops beats specialising in one, even though specialising is allowed.
A community sheet lists 20 dishes with their exact ingredients and prices on the recipe list.
You cannot design your own recipes
Asked whether players can make custom recipes, the developers answer no, and add that they do not plan to add it. This is a settled design decision rather than a missing feature.
The flexible-ingredient system is the intended substitute: you vary what goes into an existing recipe rather than authoring new ones.
What the FAQ said about selling dishes only
The pre-launch FAQ stated that in version 1.0 you would only be able to sell cooked dishes, with the developers open to adding raw crops or seedlings later. Players in the released game report selling produce as well, so treat that line as the plan before launch (what players found).
Cooking is also not optional. Asked whether players can focus purely on growing, the answer is no — but the developers say they designed cooking to be as simple as possible.
- Sellable at 1.0 — cooked dishes only, per the pre-launch FAQ
- Raw produce — players report selling it in the released game
- Skipping cooking — not possible
Where cooking happens
The kitchen is one of two rooms the FAQ names as fixed elements of the apartment, alongside the lab. You cannot clear it to make room for more planters.
That is visible in the publisher's own Demo trailer, which shows a kitchen scene with strawberries on a board and two pots of preserve cooking on the stove.
Reputation is the whole progression system
Recipes are not the only thing reputation unlocks. The developers also note you may need to improve your standing among the other apartment residents in order to buy certain seeds.
That makes cooking and growing mutually dependent. Selling dishes raises reputation, reputation unlocks seeds, new seeds widen what you can cook — and none of it is gated behind a research tree.
What the game will and will not let you do
Several boundaries are stated outright in the official FAQ, and they are worth knowing before you plan a playstyle around them. You cannot author your own recipes or skip cooking entirely; the FAQ also said raw crops would not sell in 1.0, though players now report selling produce.
What you can do is specialise. The developers confirm you may focus on specific crops if you want, while noting that recipes needing multiple ingredients push against going too narrow.
