Tiny Eden: Transmission Vector stuck at 6/7

The step reads "Create any dish of Epic quality", but a player who was stuck on it reports that the counter moved only after they cooked a dish of Rare quality instead. If you have already cooked Epic and Legendary dishes with no progress, try Rare before assuming your save is broken.

What the stuck player had already tried

The thread is unusually thorough, which is what makes the answer credible. Before posting, the player had cooked every dish they could make across the full quality range from common to legendary, restarted the game, slept to the next morning, put dishes in the showcase and stored dishes in inventory.

That list rules out most of the ordinary explanations. It is not a missing recipe, not a save that needs reloading, and not a dish sitting in the wrong container.

The answer, and why it is counter-intuitive

The reply is one line: create a dish that is Rare instead. Taken at face value that contradicts the quest text, which asks for Epic — and it is precisely the kind of mismatch nobody tries on their own, because cooking a lower-quality dish feels like going backwards. A Russian-language thread describes a similar mismatch without naming the quest: there, an objective was translated as a level 3 Petri dish, and a player says it completed after cooking any dish of blue quality, while the English text asks for an Epic dish. Blue is the colour players associate with Rare.

Whether the quest text is mislabelled or the check is looking at a different field is not something the thread establishes. What it does establish is what actually moved the counter for someone who had exhausted the obvious options.

Where quality comes from

Dish quality follows from what goes into it, and the ingredients come out of the growing loop the rest of this wiki covers — soil mix, light, temperature and the growth stages a plant passes through. The kitchen is the last step, not the first.

That means deliberately producing a Rare dish rather than the best dish you can make is a matter of choosing lesser ingredients, which is the opposite of how every other part of the game rewards you.

If Rare does not work either

Update your game before troubleshooting further. Update #6 on 14 September lists Transmission Vector among the quests whose progression conditions were fixed, alongside Duct Logistics, Bees and Hunters, and also fixed quests not being restored correctly after loading a save. Earlier, Update #1 fixed localization problems inside quest text, including cases where the wrong button prompt appeared in localized quest strings.

That matters here because this is a quest-text problem. If you are playing in a language other than English, the step you are reading may not say what the underlying check is testing.

How this fits launch week

Several quest chains misbehaved in the first days after release. The developers have confirmed one Atrium order is bugged and a Steam Deck showcase issue is bugged, and Update #1 fixed a set of note and quest interactions.

The useful posture is to check the date on any advice you find. A thread from launch day may describe a state that a patch has already changed, and the developers have said explicitly that they are working from the Steam discussions.
