Tiny Eden: getting the shop key
The shop key is not a drop you can miss — it is handed to you by the quest chain. A player in the Steam discussions reports that the first step is reaching £100, and that once you hit it the game prompts the next step. If no key has appeared, you have almost certainly not cleared that money target yet.

What the thread says
The Steam thread is titled "I don't receveid the key for open the shop", and it was answered in two replies. The answer is a sequence rather than a location, in the same way the Atrium buyer turned out to be a quest-state problem, which is why searching the apartment for a key object gets you nowhere.
The original poster came back and thanked the replier, which is the closest thing to confirmation a forum thread offers. Treat it as a strong player report rather than documentation — the developers have not published a quest walkthrough.
Why £100 is the gate
Money in Tiny Eden comes out of the same loop as everything else: grow, harvest, cook, sell. The on-screen counter sits in the top-right of the HUD next to the temperature and the date, so you can watch it move without opening a menu.
That makes the gate a soft tutorial rather than an obstacle. By the time you have earned the first £100 you have necessarily done one full circuit of the economy, which is presumably the point of putting the shop behind it.

If the money is there and nothing prompted
Check the Tablet rather than the world. The prompt in the screenshots is explicit that orders live behind the Tab key — "Press [TAB] to open the Tablet, then go to Orders" — and a quest step that has fired but not been read looks identical to one that has not fired.
It is also worth knowing that Update #1 fixed several issues with notes and quest interactions, including cases where random notes failed to appear at all. If your quest chain stalled before 8 September, updating is the first thing to try.
A player who got the email saying their license came through, and never received the key for the Tiny Market store, was asked by a developer on 21 September two things: whether the get $100 quest was fully completed, and, if it was, whether walking up to the store makes the doors open anyway. The thread had no reply from the player yet.
How this fits the wider quest chain
The shop is one node in a chain that the community is still mapping. Other threads from the same week describe stalls at the Laboratory, at database books, and at an Atrium order that the developers have confirmed is bugged.
The pattern worth carrying is that most of these are sequence gates, not hidden objects. When something has not appeared, the useful question is which step the game is still waiting on rather than where the item is hiding.
How money comes in early on, since the key costs money, is on the money page.

What is not documented
No official quest guide exists. The developers have published a pre-launch FAQ covering systems and a patch note covering fixes, and neither walks through the shop chain step by step.
So the £100 figure comes from one player and one confirmation. It matches the way the rest of the game gates progress, but it has not been stated by the developers, and the steps after it are undocumented (待确认).
Not confirmed yet
- The steps after the £100 target have not been documented.
- Whether the £100 figure is the same in every currency or region is not stated.
Frequently asked
- How do you get the shop key in Tiny Eden?
- It is given by the quest chain. A player report says the first step is earning £100, after which the game prompts the next step.
- Is the shop key an item you can find?
- No reported location exists. Every account describes it as arriving through quest progress rather than as an object in the world.
- What comes after the £100 step?
- Not documented. The game prompts the next step, but the full chain has not been published (待确认).
