Tiny Eden Update #2 patch notes

Update #2 arrived on 9 September 2026, two days after launch. Gamepad key remapping now works, keyboard and controller settings merged into one Controls screen, the option to decline quest orders was removed, soil info cards now show all seven components, and the Goodies Pack and Soundtrack went on sale as separate $2.99 DLC.

The on-screen prompt spells the loop out: press Tab for the Tablet, open Orders, confirm. The top-right readout shows surrounding temperature, the in-game clock and the season.

Controls — the fix Steam Deck players were waiting for

Gamepad key remapping now works properly, and controller buttons can be rebound directly from the Controls menu — the fix that also covers the showcase button on Steam Deck. That matters because rebinding was exactly what failed for players hitting the showcase bug on Steam Deck — one reported that changing the binding away from A did nothing at all.

Keyboard and controller settings were also merged into a single Controls screen that switches automatically to whichever device you are using. French AZERTY support improved as well, including Quick Access slots that previously could not be used correctly.

Gameplay and UI

Two lines here change how the game behaves rather than just fixing it. The option to decline quest orders was removed, and soil and kitchen upgrade prices and availability were adjusted — so any price figure written down before 9 September may no longer hold.

The soil line is the most useful for anyone learning the growing system: soil info cards now correctly display all seven soil components. Before this, cards were not showing the full set, which is why early footage only ever surfaced compost and sand.

Two DLC went on sale the same day

The Goodies Pack and the Soundtrack both passed verification and released on 9 September, each at $2.99. Until this point the Goodies Pack existed only as a promise in the pre-launch announcement.

The Goodies Pack is cosmetic — the developers list new cats, new drone skins, new planter designs, new wallpapers and a Digital Botanical Companion. Nothing in the notes describes it as affecting gameplay.

  • Tiny Eden Goodies Pack — $2.99, cosmetics (cats, drone skins, planters, wallpapers, Digital Botanical Companion)
  • Tiny Eden Soundtrack — $2.99

Audio and localization

Sound was added or updated across composter and rain, menu tabs and buttons, cooking screens, the Tablet and social features, and plant selection. That is a broad pass rather than a targeted fix.

On localization, the developers fixed cases where English appeared instead of the selected language, and added translations for soil names, settings labels, measurement units and the XP counter. The phrasing they use is "all 10 supported languages" — worth noting, because Update #1 had said Belarusian was added and the store still lists ten.

What it does not fix

Neither the Atrium buyer quest nor the stuck world orders appear anywhere in these notes, even though the developers confirmed the Atrium quest was bugged before this update shipped. Removing the ability to decline orders arguably makes a stuck order harder to live with, not easier.

The reviews moved while this was happening. The Steam rating sat at Very Positive on 8 September and reads Mostly Positive by 10 September, with 233 positive out of 302 — so the first wave of launch-week feedback pulled the average down as more players arrived.

How to read patch-era advice

Two updates in three days means community advice ages fast. A workaround posted on launch day may describe a control scheme, a price or a quest flow that no longer exists.

The practical rule is to check the date on anything you find, and to update before troubleshooting. The developers have said in both updates that they are working from the Steam discussions and Discord, so the gap between a report and a fix has been short.

Seven more updates followed by 18 September. They are listed on the patch notes page.

Not confirmed yet

  • The new soil and kitchen upgrade prices are not listed in the notes.
  • Whether the showcase bug is resolved by the remapping fix is not stated.
