Tiny Eden drone and watering skills
Drones exist in Tiny Eden — the developers confirmed them in a playtest update and sell drone skins in the paid Goodies Pack. But how a watering skill unlocks, and what it automates, has not been documented in any official source. This page states only what is confirmed and marks the rest as unconfirmed rather than guessing.
What is confirmed about drones
Drones appear twice in official material. A playtest update posted by the developers was titled around new systems, tools and drones, and the launch announcement lists drone skins among the cosmetics in the $2.99 Goodies Pack.
Both references establish that drones are a real part of the game. Neither explains what they do mechanically. The patches since launch fix drone bugs, from Update #3.1 through Update #6, without describing the watering behaviour itself; getting drones working at all starts with finishing the Drone Station project, and what players found about buying and assigning them is on the drones page.
- Named in an official playtest update covering new systems, tools and drones
- Drone skins sold as cosmetics in the Goodies Pack
- Their function, unlock condition and skill progression — not documented (unconfirmed)
Watering is confirmed as a core chore
The Steam store description states plainly that you need to keep plants watered and free of weeds as they grow. Watering is therefore a recurring task, not a one-time action.
The official FAQ reinforces this by describing early growth stages as requiring care — weeding, disease treatment and maintaining conditions. Water sits inside that maintenance loop.
Why automation would matter
The FAQ says an apartment can hold up to several hundred plants indoors and on the rooftop. At that scale, manual watering across many rooms is a significant time cost.
The game also runs time at a 60:1 ratio with no time pressure and no game over, so automation would be a convenience rather than a survival requirement.
What this page will not claim
Several community sources describe specific unlock steps for a drone watering skill. None of those steps appear in the developers' own FAQ, store page or announcements.
Because this wiki only publishes what official sources confirm, the unlock path is listed below as unconfirmed. It will be filled in once the developers or the released game provide it.
What the released game will settle
Tiny Eden launches as a full 1.0 release rather than Early Access, so systems should be complete at launch rather than arriving later.
The developers have also committed to DLCs, free updates and major content expansions covering new plants, recipes, mechanics and locations after release.
What watering competes with
Watering is one of several recurring chores. The FAQ describes early growth stages as requiring weeding, disease treatment and maintaining conditions, and the store page adds keeping plants free of weeds as you grow them.
At the maximum of several hundred plants across the apartment and rooftop, that upkeep spreads across rooms with different conditions each.
The live tooltip tracks water directly
Official screenshots show water level as a percentage on the plant tooltip — one published shot reads 89% on a strawberry, alongside seed progress and a problem count.
That confirms watering is a tracked continuous value rather than a binary state, which is the kind of system automation would plausibly target.
