Tiny Eden

Tiny Eden patch notes: every update since launch

Tiny Eden has had eleven patches since the 7 September launch, from Update #1 on 8 September to Update #10 on 21 September. The notes are on the game's Steam news page; this page lists what each one changed and links to the guide affected. Updates #5 to #10 name the stuck quests players ask about most: Biosphere, Transmission Vector, the hot pepper quest, pansies and drones.

Every update in order

The list follows the developers' own patch notes on Steam, trimmed to the changes that players ask about, with dates in Central European time. Each line links to the page that covers it in more depth.

  1. #1, 8 SepDropped support for saves from before version 0.10.0, fixed café selling and orders, and repaired quest notes and the Laboratory cutscene. See Update #1 and saves that vanish.
  2. #2, 9 SepGamepad remapping works, keyboard and controller settings share one Controls screen, the option to decline quest orders was removed, and soil and kitchen upgrade prices were adjusted. See Update #2.
  3. #3, 10 SepA large cooking, gardening and translation update. It fixed the Cooking screen and overlapping temperature zones, which was why heaters seemed not to work, cut prices for new games only, and added an I'm Stuck button to the Pause Menu.
  4. #3.1, 11 SepFixed drones interacting with plants and the watering can that could not be filled, and let growth hormones be stored in cabinets.
  5. #4, 11 SepAdded a Field of View setting, made objects have to be empty before they can be demolished, fixed drone abilities and harvesting, let you move the Shop checkout counter, and added hot pepper seeds to the Conference questline rewards.
  6. #5, 12 SepRecycling perks now give experience (recycling XP), and the Biosphere, Harvest Mutated Peas (mutated peas) and License for Paws (Code Green HQ) quests were fixed. Camera inversion became separate for mouse and controller.
  7. #6, 14 SepCrash fixes, gamepad stick fixes and quest progression fixes for Duct Logistics, Bees, Transmission Vector and Hunters. Textile and bioplastic garden beds now give their growth bonuses, and drones can uproot dead plants.
  8. #7, 15 SepCafé and kitchen fixes, Drone Care for composters and the biopolymer press, shared drone station storage, and an Order Hub that no longer counts items you already contributed. It lists pansies as unlocking correctly from Level 1 and fixed issues with hot peppers and their planter. See hot peppers and pansies.
  9. #8, 17 SepBug reports upload in the background with a save snapshot, the mouse wheel switches quick slots, an Uphold column was added to the Trading Hub, drones can be removed from stations, and the Hot Pepper quest no longer requires players to reach Level 2 with Hot Peppers. Quest markers were added to the secret notes in the Pigment quest.
  10. #9, 18 SepGarden beds were reworked in all three materials, a new game asks before overwriting your autosave (save locations), and drones no longer get stuck or pull out plants. It also fixed the Shop charging for the wrong item after scrolling, and pansies unlocking at the wrong level.
  11. #10, 21 SepItems stack to 999 in storage containers and Display Cases, and information cards for lamps and grow lights show power use and whether they are on. The Shop gained a coffee machine, a wall lamp, grow lights and wall-mounted lights, and the Trading Hub's Include in Orders toggle and the Bank's overdue bill notification came back (money, grow lights). The Save Game screen lists only slots that can be overwritten (save locations). Projects can no longer be completed early, the Drone Station no longer vanishes in older saves, and controller tooltips show the buttons of the pad in use (controllers). Genes were rebalanced, and temperature-zone boundaries around several walls and the fifth room were fixed (heaters).

Stuck quests and the patch that touched them

If your save is stalled, this table shows which update named your quest. A fix in the notes does not always repair a save that was already stuck, and the developers have not said which do.

Drones, controls and saves across the patches

Three systems were touched in nearly every update, and each has its own page tracing the changes. Drones changed in every update from #2 to #10, and players reported drones stuck on dead plants on 17 September, after which Update #9 listed drones getting stuck on tasks as fixed. Update #10 then fixed the Drone Station disappearing in older saves and removed duplicate Agro Drone listings from the Shop.

Gamepad and Steam Deck changes ran from Update #2 to Update #10, and the save menu changed in Updates #8, #9 and #10.

Where the official notes are

Every update is posted on the game's Steam news page, and the developers also answer bug reports in the Steam discussions and on their Discord. See the official channels for where each is.

A bug report can now be sent from inside the game, and since Update #8 it includes a snapshot of your save from the moment the problem happened.
