Tiny Eden: when the showcase will not take items
This one is acknowledged. A player reported on Steam Deck that pressing A only moved the showcase instead of using it, and Digital Vortex Entertainment replied that several people had reported the same bug and that they are looking to fix it as soon as possible. A second player reports the same failure on restock even outside that control scheme.

- Confirmedby developers
- Restockwhen it fails
- LMBworked once
- Noneconfirmed workaround
What the developers said
The reply in the thread is unusually open — it confirms the bug, says a fix is being worked on — and Update #2 reworked the controller bindings, and then asks the community for a temporary workaround rather than offering one. That is worth reading as a signal: at the time of writing there was no known way around it.
The same reply also asks a diagnostic question, which tells you what the developers themselves suspected: whether the button behaves differently with items held versus empty hands.
The two failure shapes people describe
The first is a control problem on Steam Deck: the A button is bound to both Use and Take (hold), and pressing it only moves the showcase rather than opening it. The player reports that rebinding to another button did not resolve it.
The second is about restocking specifically. One player managed to stock the showcase successfully the first time they built it using left mouse button, but after the item sold out they could no longer add more — with an item in hand or without. The showcase kept displaying the last price they had set.
- Steam Deck / controller: A only moves the showcase; rebinding does not help
- Restock: worked once on first build, then refuses new stock
- Tried both with an item held and with empty hands
- Showcase still displays the old price after selling out

Update #2 fixed the layer underneath
On 9 September the developers shipped Update #2, and its first line is that gamepad key remapping now works properly, with controller buttons rebindable from the Controls menu. That is exactly the thing the original reporter said had failed for them.
The showcase itself is not named in those notes, so this is not a stated fix for the bug. But the binding layer that broke underneath it did change, which makes retesting worthwhile before assuming you are still stuck. Later patches name a Display Case, which appears to be the same shop fixture (unconfirmed): Update #4 fixed its control prompts and error messages, and Update #5 made it recalculate its layout when items are added or removed and fixed item placement. Update #6 on 14 September then implemented what it calls a potential fix for items collected by drones or bought from the Shop not being added to Storage or not being transferable to Display Cases, and the developers say they are still monitoring it.
Why this one hurts more than it looks
The showcase is not decoration — it is how stock reaches buyers, which puts it directly in the money loop. A player in the thread put it plainly: it is making the game difficult to enjoy.
That also makes it worth distinguishing from the other launch-week blockers. An Atrium order you cannot deliver parks one quest; a showcase that will not restock stalls the economy that everything else feeds.
What to do while it is broken
Keep selling through whatever route still works for you rather than waiting on the showcase, and keep your build current — the developers shipped Update #1 the day after launch and said it was shaped by the Steam discussions and Discord.
If you find something that works, the thread is the place to post it. The developers explicitly asked for a temporary workaround to share, which is a rare invitation and the fastest route to it reaching other players.

Steam Deck more generally
Tiny Eden ships for Windows and Linux, which is what makes Steam Deck a reasonable target in the first place. The developers have not published a Steam Deck compatibility statement, and this showcase issue is the first controller-specific problem to surface publicly.
Whether other interactions share the same binding conflict is not documented (待确认). The thread only establishes it for the showcase.
The controller and Steam Deck changes patch by patch are on the controller support page, and how selling from the shop works is on the money page.
Not confirmed yet
- Whether the Display Case fixes in Updates #4 and #5 resolve the Steam Deck A-button report is not stated.
- Whether Update #2's gamepad remapping fix resolves the showcase bug is not stated in the notes.
- Whether the binding conflict affects interactions other than the showcase is not documented.
- No official Steam Deck compatibility statement has been published.
Frequently asked
- Is the Tiny Eden showcase bug official?
- Yes. Digital Vortex Entertainment replied in the Steam thread confirming several reports and saying a fix is being worked on.

- Does Tiny Eden run on Steam Deck?
- The game ships for Windows and Linux, but no official Steam Deck compatibility statement has been published (待确认).
