Tiny Eden

Tiny Eden: finishing Code Green HQ

Players report the license comes from the inspector: once bribed, he drops it on the floor close to where he was standing, so look at the ground if it did not land in your inventory (for a few players it never appeared). If a dish requirement suddenly adds an 8/8 slot, players traced it to dishes of mixed rarity; players report the project still completes once the original count is met, in some cases only after restarting the game.

The kitchen is where harvests become sellable food. Those jam jars on the counter are the same item Update #1 fixed for blocking movement.

The license is on the floor, not in a shop

Players search the shop for it because the project lists it like an item to buy. Players who found it got it from the inspector after bribing him, and a player explains that if your inventory has no room, it is dropped on the ground instead.

What he wants as the bribe is, according to one player, shown on the request box when you talk to him and hover over it. Afterwards, look around the spot where he stood; one player places him on the same floor as the turn-in, by the other staircase, and several players found the license lying there.

  • "It will look like a catalogue blueprint on the floor."
  • "Thank you. I found it on the floor where he was."

When it is not on the floor either

For some players it was not anywhere. One searched the whole Atrium and did not find it, and the developers replied in that thread on 10 September that it should be fixed in the update coming later that day. Update #3 went out on 10 September, though its notes do not name the license.

Not everyone recovered. A player later in the same thread said the inspector still had not dropped it, and the player who started the thread said they had to restart their save, guessing the license had fallen through the floor.

A player wrote on 19 September that they used their license in the lab and then had none for Code Green. A reply said the lab needs food, materials and research books rather than a license, and another suggested reporting it from the pause menu.

Why 4 dishes became 12

The other Code Green blocker looks worse than it is. A player adding Garden Buns watched the requirement go from 4 to 4 plus another 8. Players who hit it traced it to handing in the same dish at a different rarity, with the second rarity opening a new slot with its own, larger count.

Players found the extra slot does not have to be filled. The approaches below all come from people who got past it, and the same split happens on the Drone Station project.

What players didWhat happened
Added 4 of each and pressed Complete anywayThe order completed
Restarted the game clientThe extra count still showed, but Complete was no longer greyed out
Reloaded and handed in all one rarityIt worked
Selected Complete project without the extra 8It worked

The on-screen prompt spells the loop out: press Tab for the Tablet, open Orders, confirm. The top-right readout shows surrounding temperature, the in-game clock and the season.

The developers' first question: is the demo installed

When this bug was reported, the developers asked two things: whether restarting brought the requirement back to 4, and whether the demo was still installed, asking players to uninstall it if so.

The demo is no longer on the Steam store, but a copy you installed earlier stays in your library. If you still have it, remove it before you chase anything else. The save side of that story is on demo saves that will not load.

What finishing it opens

Code Green HQ sits in front of other progress. The player who could not find the license wrote that they needed plasmids for another quest and could only get them with the HQ, and that the third room would not open without it either.

A Russian-language reply tentatively names a hot conference quest that opens Code Green and hands out the Navigational chip; most players name a chili pepper questline as the source of that chip.

Plasmids need Code Green reputation level 1 and cost $199 each; the quests that use them are on the splice page.

The community sheet's list of what each project asks for is on the project requirements page.

Not the same as License for Paws

A different inspector quest gets mixed up with this one. In License for Paws, a player reports handing a Peppery Herb Salad to an inspector in the upstairs hallway, after which he neither leaves nor completes the quest, and the salad can be handed in again after a restart.

That one has a named fix. Update #5 on 12 September lists "Fixed the License for Paws quest." among its quest changes, so update before repeating the hand-in.

Not confirmed yet

  • Which update fixed the missing license is not stated; the developers' reply pointed to an update released on 10 September.
  • Whether saves where the license vanished recover without a restart is not documented.
