Why the lab shows zero after you deliver peas

The thread that produced this answer opens with exactly that confusion: everything the Laboratory asked for had been handed in, and the plasmid count had not moved. The reply reframes the problem rather than solving it — plasmids were never going to appear from the delivery. The peas matter elsewhere too: for the mutation quest they only count once spliced and replanted (getting mutated peas to count).

That distinction matters because the Laboratory takes deposits of several kinds, and the Transmission Vector step is where players most often get stuck on what it wants. Database books go onto a pallet to unlock it, peas satisfy their own requirement, and plasmids are a purchase you make elsewhere.

What the shop tab looks like

Selling and buying in Tiny Eden happen at physical locations rather than through a global menu, which is part of why an item sitting in a shop tab is easy to miss when you are expecting a research reward.

The reported price of $199 is high relative to early-game money — the quest gating the shop itself is a £100 target — so plasmids read as a mid-game purchase rather than something you pick up on day one. One player reports they could not get plasmids at all until Code Green HQ was built.

How this connects to the Laboratory

Update #1 confirms the Laboratory is a real location with its own cutscene, its own notes and its own art assets — two separate lines in the patch notes touch it. It is a place you unlock and then use, not a menu.

So the sequence players describe runs: deposit database books on the pallet to unlock the lab, satisfy whatever the lab asks for, and buy plasmids separately when you need them. None of that chain is documented officially (待确认).

If plasmids still do not appear

Check the shop tab rather than the lab. The reply names the Garden tab specifically, and shop inventories in this game are split across tabs rather than presented as one list.

It is also worth updating first. Update #1 fixed issues with notes and quest interactions, including cases where notes failed to appear at all — and a quest step you never received looks identical to one you cannot complete.

What is not known

How many plasmids any given step needs, what they do once acquired, and whether they can ever be produced rather than purchased are all undocumented. The pre-launch FAQ covers growing, soil, cooking and the economy, and does not mention plasmids at all.
