Tiny Eden

Tiny Eden: finishing the Drone Station project

Three separate things stop the Drone Station project from completing. Players could not find the Navigational chip in any shop and report it as the reward for the chili pepper questline. Players also found that dishes of mixed quality split a requirement into a second slot, which they got past with a save and reload or a restart. And a turn-in bug on the fried cauliflower step was acknowledged by the developers as a priority fix, on the same day Update #3 changed the project's requirements.

Which blocker are you looking at

One player describes the project as "Project: Drone Station (Room)", part of the Autofarming quest, and the threads about it on the Steam board all end at the same place: a project window that will not let you press Complete. The cause is different from thread to thread, so match your symptom first.

The requirement list itself also moved. Update #3 on 10 September updated the requirements for the Laboratory and Drone Station apartment projects; the notes do not say what the new requirements are.

One player who could not find the station wrote on 21 September that it is not in the main apartment area but in the second room you have to unlock, through the door to the left of the stove.

Blocker one: the Navigational chip

The chip is the item people search the shop for and never find. Players who got past it report it comes from finishing the chili pepper questline, not from a vendor, and that it arrives by mail the day after.

The full route is on the Navigational chip page, and making the pepper count as mutated follows the same splice-and-replant rule as the pea quest. Once it is in, one player whose project had stalled wrote that adding it was the last step they needed.

  • "It is the reward for completing the other quest line with the chili peppers"
  • "Finish the Chilli Pepper quest an you get it"
  • "I added the nav data after getting it and I was able to complete the quest!"

Blocker two: a requirement that splits into x/8

If a dish requirement suddenly shows two slots, such as 4/6 in one and 2/8 in another, players who hit it traced it to handing in the same dish at two different quality levels, with the second quality opening its own slot with a larger count. The same thing happens on the Code Green HQ project.

Players who hit it report that the extra slot is cosmetic once the original amount is covered. The fixes that worked for them are below, roughly in the order worth trying.

The community sheet's list of what each project asks for is on the project requirements page. Its Drone Station list may not match the game after Update #3.

  • Check that the original requirement is fully met, ignoring the new slot
  • Save, then reload the save and try Complete again
  • If the button is still grey, quit and restart the game client
  • In future, hand in one quality level per requirement

The on-screen prompt spells the loop out: press Tab for the Tablet, open Orders, confirm. The top-right readout shows surrounding temperature, the in-game clock and the season.

Blocker three: the fried cauliflower turn-in

On 10 September a player reported that after turning in everything else, the last six fried cauliflower could no longer be handed in, and others confirmed the same. The developers replied in that thread directly.

Update #3 went out the same day with the requirement change mentioned above. The notes do not list the new requirements; a Russian-language reply says, with some hesitation, that the update replaced it with bread. One player who had deposited before the update saw a count of 30/15 and got through by saving and reloading, which removed the vegetable bread already deposited, then adding it again.

After it completes: drones that still do nothing

Finishing the station does not switch drones on by itself. In the threads, drones that sat idle came down to three things: the matching Drone activity perk had not been bought (one player found the Sowing perk under Skills, in the Emergence section), or the planter's own drone switch was off; one player also advises pressing Add Drone at the station. The watering perk is covered on the drone watering skill page, and buying, skills and the drone cap on the drones page.

Some of it really was broken. Players reported extra drones that never became available and a cap of roughly four to six working at once, and the patches that followed kept returning to drones.

  • Update #3.1: "Fixed issues with drones interacting with plants."
  • Update #4: "Fixed drone abilities."
  • Update #4: "Fixed an issue that could prevent drones from harvesting plants in certain situations."
  • Update #4: "Fixed the rooftop Drone Station sequence."
  • Update #5: "Reworked the Drone Station and Drone Hub interfaces."
  • Update #6: "Drones can now uproot dead plants."

What the developers said about quest text

The confusion is not only yours. In a thread where a player was stuck on the station with deposits split across slots, the developers said the quest text would be rewritten to be clearer.

Separately, Update #3 added an I’m Stuck button to the pause menu and Update #4 fixed it. The notes do not describe what it offers.

What Update #10 changed for the station

Update #10 on 21 September touched the Drone Station twice. It fixed the station disappearing in older saves, and it made a change to projects in general: they can no longer be completed before every requirement is met. The notes add that the Drone Station screen got minor improvements.

The second change is the one to keep in mind if the project counted as finished for you earlier than the requirement list said. The notes do not say how a project that was already completed early is treated, so a save that had it marked done is not confirmed to change.

Not confirmed yet

  • The full Drone Station requirement list after Update #3 is not published.
  • Whether the fried cauliflower step still exists after Update #3 is not stated.
  • How many drones can work at once is not documented.
  • How a project that was completed early before Update #10 is handled is not stated.

Frequently asked

Where do I get the Navigational chip for the Drone Station?
Players did not find it in any shop. Those who got it report it as the reward for the chili pepper questline, and one player says it arrived in the parcel box the day after.
Why does the Drone Station suddenly ask for 8 more?
Players traced it to handing in dishes of different quality, which opens a second slot. They report the project completes once the original count is met, sometimes only after a save and reload or a client restart.
Was the fried cauliflower bug fixed?
The developers called it a priority fix, and Update #3 changed the project requirements the same day. The notes do not say whether the cauliflower step remains.
Why do my drones do nothing after building the station?
Check the Drone activity perks in the skill tree, the drone switch on each planter, and that the drone was added at the station. Updates #3.1, #4 and #5 also fixed a series of drone bugs.
