Tiny Eden: the Homecoming quest and the end of the story

Homecoming step 11/12 asks for at least 10 bees on the balcony of the fifth room, the room up the staircase inside your apartment. Count bees, not hunters: on the plant card the bee is the left-hand icon. After Project Hive and 100 rooftop bees the story quests stop; that is the current end of the game, and it counts as finishing it.

Homecoming 11/12: 10 bees on the fifth-room balcony

The quest counts bees on that one balcony. Hunters, the friendly insects from Legendary Calendula, do not count, and the two icons are easy to confuse: on the plant card the bee is the symbol on the left. A reading of 12 on the right-hand icon is hunters.

Bees come to flowering plants, so fill the fifth-room balcony with flowers and let them bloom. Bees elsewhere in the apartment or on the roof do not count toward this step.

Step 1: Open the fifth room
Take the staircase inside the apartment, opposite the front door. The key comes with White Square reputation level 2; if the door stays locked, check the mailbox for the key.
Step 2: Grow flowering plants on its balcony
Bees follow flowers; keep them blooming.
Step 3: Wait for the bee icon to reach 10
Check the left-hand icon on the plant card.

New Beginnings: 100 rooftop bees

An earlier bees step asks for the maximum number of rooftop bees, shown as 100. Only bees on the roof count; bees in a room are counted separately.

Return Home and the rooftop power boxes

One step asks you to turn off the power boxes on the roof. There is no switch: break them with the sledgehammer.

After Project Hive: is that the end?

Once Project Hive is built and 100 bees are on the roof, no further story quest appears, and the last message is usually an email about the neighbour moving in. That is the end of the current story. Finishing without ever taking a bank loan earns the Debt-Free achievement.

Several systems look unfinished at that point, including market trends and the basement. The developers plan free updates and DLC with new plants, recipes, mechanics and locations, so keep the game updated. Meanwhile, the achievements and a full plant collection are the long-term goals.
